Biography
Matt Barbet is an experienced broadcaster and journalist who anchored news programmes for ITV, the BBC and Channel 5 where he was one of their longest-serving presenters.
Matt has covered many of the world鈥檚 biggest stories. He was embedded in Afghanistan with British armed forces during the war, witnessed the effects of the Haiti earthquake and terror attacks in the UK and France, and covered elections from Downing Street and the White House. He has also interviewed world leaders, royalty and icons of sport and entertainment.
He started his career working for ITN before moving to BBC Radio 1 Newsbeat. Prior to returning to broadcast news, Matt has consulted for leading London public relations firm Freuds.
Growing up in North Wales, Matt attended state schools and graduated from Cardiff University before studying at its journalism school. He lives in East Sussex with his wife and two daughters. He is a lifelong Liverpool FC fan, a guitarist, marathon runner and avid road cyclist.
