Aalia Mahomed: Family pays tribute to woman killed in fatal van collision in central London
A 26-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.

The family of a young woman who died after a van struck three pedestrians in central London have described her as a "kind and beautiful soul" and a "ray of sunshine".
Aalia Mahomed, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene following the fatal collision close to The Strand on Tuesday morning.
In a statement released through the Metropolitan Police on Thursday, her family said: "Aalia was a bright, kind and beautiful soul, who brought joy and laughter to everyone.
"She was a ray of sunshine in our lives, and will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.
"Her light will always live on in our memories and her smile will be our strength as we get through this difficult time."
Emergency crews were alerted to the incident near the King's College London campus at around 11.41am.
The Met Police said a 27-year-old woman was taken to hospital, where she remains in a serious condition.
A force spokesperson said: "Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening."
A 23-year-old man was also taken to hospital and has since been discharged.

A 26-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.
He was further arrested whilst in custody on suspicion of drug driving offences.
He has since been bailed with conditions as enquiries continue.
