A community has been left in "shock" after a farmer died and his son injured following an incident on a farm.

The incident took place on a farm in Aberhosan, near Machynlleth in mid-Wales, on Friday evening.

The man who died in the incident has been named locally as Iwan Evans.

Dyfed-Powys Police say his death is not being treated as suspicious.

A 42-year-old man, believed to be his son, Dafydd, is understood to be in a stable condition in hospital.

Local councillor, Elwyn Vaughan, told Sky News that the news had come as "a shock for the community".

He added that the community is "close-knit", and the Evans' are "a long-established local family".
