Alan Lawson murder: Man appears in court charged with attempting to defeat the ends of justice

A man has appeared in court charged with attempting to defeat the ends of justice in connection with a murder in North Ayrshire.
Alan Lawson was assaulted at a property in Alexander Avenue, Largs, over the weekend of Saturday 3 February.
The 36-year-old, from Saltcoats, died in hospital on Tuesday 6 February and a murder probe was subsequently launched following a post-mortem examination.
On Wednesday morning, Police Scotland confirmed Bryan Carey, 27, had been arrested and charged in connection with the case.
Carey, of Ardrossan, appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court later in the day, when he was accused of attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
Carey made no plea to the single charge and was released on bail ahead of his next court appearance, which is yet to be confirmed.

Jordan Honeyman, 29, appeared in the dock earlier this month accused of murder and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
He made no plea to the two charges and was remanded in custody ahead of his next court appearance expected this week.
