Animal Rebellion campaigners have been thrown out of Heston Blumenthal's restaurant in London's Knightsbridge.

The protesters said the restaurant had been targeted because it is "symbolic of the broken system".

Group member Ben Thomas, 20, said: "These restaurants charge extortionate prices for animal products which are really harmful to the environment and the climate and just cater for the 1%."

Mr Thomas, a student, said he had been among eight protesters who sat down at tables in the restaurant - called Dinner - on Saturday night, aiming to "occupy" the venue.

He said some of the group's members were removed from the building, heckled with shouts of "grow up", as they were carried out "very quickly".
