Coldplay have released music under the new band name Los Unidades.

Speculation mounted on Tuesday after the band's record label, Parlophone, tweeted to announce a "new signing", together with a blurry image of four people.

At the bottom of the picture, it said "Y02LPAC81ODL" - which eagle-eyed fans were quick to point out is an anagram of "Coldplay 2018".

Fan account ColdplayXtra also posted details of an apparent legal trademark agreement which lists the owners of Los Unidades as Chris Martin, Jon Buckland, Will Champion and Guy Berryman.

The account said the trademark filing was made a year ago, after the band finished their A Head Full Of Dreams tour.

Later on, the account released the song E-Lo, with Pharrell Williams featuring Jozzy.

The track has been released as part of the Global Citizen EP 1 - a movement to end extreme poverty by 2030.

The Global Citizen EP will also feature Stormzy and David Guetta.
