Aretha Franklin funeral: Stars including Stevie Wonder and Chaka Khan to perform

Organisers say the service will reflect Franklin's strong gospel roots and will follow a week of events to remember her.

Some of the biggest stars in showbusiness will be performing at Aretha Franklin's funeral next week.

The all-star line-up includes Stevie Wonder, Faith Hill, Jennifer Hudson, Fantasia, Shirley Caesar and many more.

The Queen of Soul's service will be held in her hometown Detroit next Friday and also billed to perform are Ron Isley, Chaka Khan, Yolanda Adams, Jennifer Holliday and Franklin's son, Edward Franklin.

The service will reflect Franklin's strong gospel roots and among the gospel stars performing will be Marvin Sapp, the Clark Sisters and Vanessa Bell Armstrong.

The Aretha Franklin Orchestra and the Aretha Franklin Celebration Choir are also in the line-up along with singers Audrey DuBois Harris and Alice McAllister Tillman

The service will be held at Greater Grace Temple. Franklin,76, died of pancreatic cancer in Detroit.

Franklin will be entombed at Woodlawn Cemetery in Detroit, along with her father Rev CL Franklin, brother Cecil Franklin, sisters Carolyn Franklin and Erma Franklin and nephew Thomas Garrett.

The funeral will follow a week of tributes to the singer that will include a public viewing to be held at the Charles H Wright Museum of African American History on Tuesday and Wednesday.

A public concert at Chene Park amphitheatre is scheduled for Thursday.
