Brexit Secretary David Davis has revealed he won 拢1,000 betting that the UK would leave the European Union.
The prominent Leave campaigner said he put his money where his mouth was in the build up to the referendum in June.
He told LBC's Nick Ferrari that he had a flutter on his side winning: "I was in this studio on referendum day with Iain Dale, referendum night, and the polls at that point were telling us there's going to be a 10-point advantage to Remain."
Mr Davis said he won "a grand" and the windfall is "still paying my office drinks bill".
Many bookies were offering odds of 5/1 for a Leave vote on the day of the ballot.
It wasn't the only Brexit bonus for the minister, whose promotion to his newly created post saw his wages nearly double.
But the MP for Haltemprice and Howden could have racked in even more if he'd also predicted Leicester City's Premier League victory and Donald Trump's election to the White House - a £1 bet on all three of those happening would have paid out £4,500,000.
