Cher has confirmed that a musical about her life will debut on Broadway next year.
The singer, whose career spans five decades, says she has given producers her approval for the show, which will feature some of her best known songs including I Got You Babe, Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves, Take Me Home, Believe and If I Could Turn Back Time.
The star tweeted top confirm the news to her followers.
Pitch Perfect and Avenue Q director Jason Moore is understood to be directing the musical, while the award-winning Jeffrey Seller, who produced Broadway hit Hamilton, is due to produce alongside Flody Suarez.
In January, the New York Post reported that Cher had attended the secret first reading of the Cher: The Musical script, written by Jersey Boys creator Rick Elice.
At the time, the singer tweeted: "Just walked Of the musical. I SOBBED & LAUGHED & I WAS PREPARED NOT 2 LIKE IT. AUDIENCE CLAPPED AFTER SONGS & GAVE IT STANDING OVATION."
First finding fame in the 1960s as one half of husband and wife duo Sony & Cher, the singer went on to establish a successful solo career in her own right.
She also turned her hand to acting, winning an Oscar for her performance in 1987 film Moonstruck.
Last month, she was awarded the Icon Award at the 2017 Billboards.
Performing her hit song Believe while wearing a silver tasselled leotard, the 71-year-old later changed into a mesh-panelled black jumpsuit inspired by her 1987 If I Could Turn Back Time video outfit to accept the award.
