Martial arts fighter Conor McGregor has been convicted of punching a man in a Dublin pub in April and fined 鈧1,000 (拢861).
The 31-year-old pleaded guilty to a single charge of assault and apologised to his victim at Dublin's District Court, which saw CCTV footage of the incident.
McGregor, who has twice been an Ultimate Fighting Championship title-holder, told the court that what he did was "very wrong"
"I assure you nothing of this nature will happen again," he added.
He also paid compensation, the amount of which was not disclosed.
In a letter to the court, victim Desmond Keogh said he accepted McGregor's apology. He decided not to give a victim impact statement.
McGregor's solicitor, Michael Staines, said his client accepted that what he did was wrong, adding that Mr Keogh did not suffer any physical injury.
In April 2018, McGregor was charged with three counts of assault and one count of criminal mischief after police said he attacked a charter bus in New York carrying UFC fighters.
He pleaded guilty to a reduced disorderly conduct charge in that case.
McGregor announced his retirement in March, adding that "Pina Coladas (are) on me".
