Newborn babies at a hospital in Thailand are being given face shields in an effort to protect them from the coronavirus.

Thailand has reported a total of 2,473 cases of COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus.

A total of 33 people have died after contracting the virus, while 1,013 patients have recovered.

Fifty new cases were reported on Friday, as well as the death of a 43-year-old woman.

Twenty-seven of them are linked to previous cases and eight are waiting for investigation into how they caught the disease.
