A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving after two people were hurt when a car crashed into their living room.
The 26-year-old was released under investigation on Monday, having been taken into custody after fleeing the scene of the incident in Worcester on Friday night.
Police and ambulance crews were called to a home in Battenhall Rise at around 10.30pm, with the Audi A4 having ploughed into the living room as the family inside watched TV.
Robert Beattie, 61, said his wife Mel, 53, was lucky to be alive.
He told Worcester News: "How Mel is alive I'll never know. She should have had her head taken off. The settee was pushed right across the room.
"The Audi A4 was a foot-and-a-half from my face. My main concern is my wife and daughter."
Their 15-year-old daughter Tash was also injured and was taken alongside her mother to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said they had been taken to hospital "as a precaution for further assessment".
