Emma Lovell: Teenager pleads guilty to murder of British woman in Australia

One of two teenagers accused of killing a British mother in Australia has pleaded guilty to murder.

Emma Lovell was allegedly stabbed in the chest after confronting two teenagers in the front garden of her home on Boxing Day in 2022.

The 41-year-old had emigrated from Suffolk to Queensland in 2011 with her husband Lee and their two daughters.

The two teenagers, who cannot be named as they were 17 at the time of the incident, were charged with the murder of Mrs Lovell and the attempted murder of her husband.

They are alleged to have broken into the family home in North Lakes, 30 miles north of Brisbane, and then attempted to flee the scene.

Mrs Lovell was wounded during the alleged confrontation and died as a result of her injuries.

On Monday, the teenager who is alleged to have used the murder weapon also pleaded guilty to burglary, malicious acts with intent and assault occasioning bodily harm over an attack on Mr Lovell.

He was remanded in custody and will face sentencing on 3 May.

The second teenager is yet to enter any pleas.

Mr Lovell, who survived the attack, attended the hearing at Brisbane's Supreme Court.
