Maybe the words were lost in translation, but some are suspicious. Particularly because Scobie, although insisting he isn't a friend of the Sussexes, has certainly been briefed by their team in the past.

The books have the same title and the same author, but tell a very different story.

In a plot twist no one expected, the Dutch have resurfaced a British royal race row - taking us back to spring 2021 and the aftermath of Harry and Meghan's Oprah interview.

When Meghan spoke about "concerns and conversations" from members of the Royal Family about Archie's skin colour, she didn't name names but did set in motion a lot of speculation.

The interview caused controversy and created a crisis within the palace. We never found out who'd made the offensive remarks, until - perhaps - now.

The Dutch version of a new book reveals exactly which royals had the conversation.

We can't print the names, but we have the Dutch book and its contents are clear.

The author, Omid Scobie, has denied producing a book with the names in it - but did he write an early draft which did? We simply don't know.

When his book reveals "private letters" shared between Meghan and the King, you can't help but wonder who gave him those letters.

We've had no comment from either Buckingham Palace or the Sussexes.

Five revelations from controversial book on Royal Family

What's being talked about will do little to repair the fractured relations between Harry and the rest of his family.

And cynics might say it'll boost sales of a book that hadn't received the warmest of reviews.

Either way, it shows again that while Meghan and Harry might have left their royal roles they can still make headlines and difficult reading for the Royal Family.
