Police are appealing for information after a man in need of urgent medical treatment was found in a van on the side of a motorway and later died.
Essex Police were called to reports of an unattended dark-coloured van on the hard shoulder of the M11 between Redbridge roundabout and Loughton shortly after 8pm on Monday.
Officers discovered a man in the vehicle who required hospital treatment.
He was taken to a nearby hospital but has now died, the force said.
Police say they are treating his death as "unexplained".
The force launched an appeal on Sunday, saying they are looking for witnesses and dashcam footage of "any suspicious behaviour".
