Former Tory minister and Strictly contestant Ann Widdecombe is on her way to Brussels after leading the charge for the Brexit Party in the South West.
The cat-loving political veteran had been pitched against Boris Johnson's sister Rachel, who failed to get elected for the new pro-Remain Change UK party.
YouTube controversialist Carl Benjamin - aka Sargon of Akkad - who was second on UKIP's South West regional list, was also unsuccessful in his bid to get elected.
The 39-year-old caused outrage during the campaign when he said he "wouldn't even rape" the Labour MP Jess Phillips and refused to apologise for the remarks.
In a sarcastic jibe at his defeat, Ms Phillips tweeted: "What a shame".
Labour former cabinet minister Lord Adonis also lost his bid to become an MEP in the South West region.

Former revolutionary communist Claire Fox topped the list of successful candidates for the Brexit Party in the North West.
Former English Defence League leader Tommy Robinson, standing as an Independent, failed to get elected in the region.
He left the election count in central Manchester barely an hour after he had arrived, conceding defeat before the first council area result was officially declared.
The far-right activist, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, was a political adviser to the current UKIP leader Gerrard Batten.
Mr Batten lost his seat in London as supporters ditched UKIP for the Brexit Party.
Former BBC presenter and journalist Gavin Esler failed to take a seat in the capital for Change UK.
In the East Midlands, Annunziata Rees-Mogg - sister of the arch Tory Brexiteer Jacob Rees-Mogg - was victorious for the Brexit Party.
Addressing how her brother will be feeling after a disappointing evening for the Conservatives, Ms Rees-Mogg said: "I have no doubt he will be devastated at what has been done to his own party, the Conservatives.
Her party leader Nigel Farage was returned as an MEP South East England, which he has represented in the European Parliament since 1999.

Former opera singer Lucy Harris also won for the Brexit Party in Yorkshire and Humber.
Former Lord Mayor of Sheffield Magid Magid, whose election slogan was "immigrants make Britain great", was elected as a Green MEP for the region.
