Stars of Game of Thrones, including Emilia Clarke, Kit Harington, Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner, have stepped on to the red carpet in New York for the premiere of its final season.

It has been two years since the last series, but on Wednesday night actors from every season of the show appeared at New York's Radio City Music Hall.

The smash HBO/Sky Atlantic show began in 2011, as an adaptation to A Song of Ice And Fire - a set of fantasy novels by George R R Martin.

Now, the show will air the last six episodes, and will finally reveal who will sit on the Iron Throne.

At the end of the last season, Winter had well and truly arrived, with the kingdom of Westeros getting ready for epic battles ahead.

Among the stars at Wednesday's premiere were Jack Gleeson who plays Joffrey - who at one point sat on the Iron Throne.
