In 100 words: Ratings agency Moody's signalled it would downgrade the credit rating on Britain's government debt, warning that Brexit has triggered an "erosion in institutional strength" which threatens the UK's financial credibility.

Labour was urged by some of its most prominent women to block Katie Osborne from running as a parliamentary candidate for the party after she shared an image online of former prime minister Theresa May with a gun to her head.

Matt Hancock appeared on Sophie Ridge on Saturday and apologised to an autistic girl, Bethany, whose full name cannot be published, and who is being locked up for 24 hours each day without human contact.

Bethany's distraught father had previously told Sky News that his daughter "is not an animal" after saying she was being held in a "cell" where food is served to her by sliding it across the floor.

A poll on Saturday conducted by YouGov for Sky News revealed that fewer than one in three voters believed the Tories were planning to increase spending on public services, suggesting one of the party's key campaign messages was yet to break through.

Sky News' political editor Beth Rigby wrote that Nicola Sturgeon could be the kingmaker if this election doesn't go as Mr Johnson wants it to.
