A man has been arrested after driving his car into a crowd of protesters in Seattle before shooting a demonstrator who confronted him.聽
Footage from the scene shows the car appearing to accelerate towards the crowd before hitting a barricade, as people can be heard screaming "Oh God! Oh God! No! No!".
Protesters surround the car as it comes to a stop and a man on the driver's side falls to the ground after what sounds like a gunshot.
The driver later gets out of the car and appears to be brandishing a gun.
He then heads into a crowd of people.
The victim is a 27-year-old black man who is in a stable condition in hospital, according to Seattle firefighters and eyewitness video.
Other images from the scene showed protesters forming a protective ring around the victim before he was helped up by medics.
Police were heard asking the crowd to bring him in for treatment.
He was seen walking away - supported by the medics - and being taken into an ambulance.
The suspect is in custody and a gun has been recovered.
Police do not believe there were any other victims.
