How your MP voted on a snap general election
Tuesday 10 September 2019 17:04, UK
In his sixth Commons defeat since taking office, Boris Johnson has failed to get the backing of MPs for a snap general election.
A total of 293 MPs voted in favour of a snap election, while 46 voted against it.
But 303 MPs did not vote, meaning Mr Johnson did not have the support of the 434 MPs required to hold an election on 15 October.

The vast majority of Conservative MPs backed the prime minister - but six did not vote, including the prime minister's brother, Jo Johnson.
Last week, he resigned the Conservative whip and said he would stand down at the next election.
Other Tory MPs who did not vote were:
Suella Braverman
James Duddridge
Keith Simpson
Chloe Smith
Caroline Spelman

Opposition parties largely united to deny Boris Johnson a general election, with many choosing to abstain from voting.
Labour, the Liberal Democrats, the SNP and Plaid Cymru said ahead of voting that they would vote against the government or abstain.
They said they did not want an election until an extension had been agreed with the EU to prevent a no-deal Brexit.
But one Liberal Democrat politician, Sarah Wollaston, voted with the government.
Almost all of the Labour Party decided not to vote, although 23 chose to oppose the election, including Stella Creasy and Karen Buck.
Change UK MPs also either opposed the government or abstained from voting.
