Trump 'begged' Tehran for ceasefire, Iranian TV claims
Iranian state media reported news of Donald Trump's ceasefire overnight by claiming it had been "imposed" on Israel following Tehran's "successful" military response to "US aggression".
As a reminder, Iran launched an attack against a US military base in Qatar yesterday in response to America's own strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities a day earlier.
And in an indication as to how Tehran plans to sell the halt in attacks to the Iranian public, state TV claimed Trump requested the ceasefire "in a begging-like manner".
Trump himself had a different version of events. On Truth Social, he said Israel and Iran approached him "almost simultaneously, and said, peace".
At this point, "I knew the time was now" he added.
