What sites did the US target?

President Donald Trump has said the US has struck three of Iran's nuclear sites.

He said the Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan sites were targeted.

A US official told the Reuters news agency that two B-2 bombers were involved in the strikes.

Earlier this week, Trump said he would make a decision on whether to strike Iran "in the next two weeks" but yesterday, the US moved several of its B-2 bombers to the Pacific island of Guam.

This indicated that the US president may have been prepared to launch a strike sooner than expected.

The B-2 aircraft are capable of delivering the 30,000Ib bunker buster bombs needed to attack Fordow, the Iranian nuclear facility that is buried 300ft inside a mountain.

US attacks three nuclear sites in Iran, Trump says

Donald Trump has said the US has completed a "very successful" attack on three nuclear sites in Iran.

In a post on Truth Social, the president said the Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan sites were targeted.

The president's full post reads:

We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE! Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Saudi Arabia condemns 'blatant Israeli aggressions' against Iran

Saudi Arabia's foreign minister has condemned what he called "blatant Israeli aggressions" against Iran.

Prince Faisal bin Farhan said attacks from Israel undermine Iran's sovereignty and security and "constitute a clear violation of international laws and norms, and threaten the security and stability of the region".

He went on to call for an "immediate cessation of military operations" while speaking at a meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

For context: Iran and Saudi Arabia were rivals in the Middle Eastern region, but have normalised relations in recent years.

Riyadh was quick to side publicly with Tehran after Israel launched a barrage of strikes on Iran last week.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation is the second-largest organisation after the United Nations. It has 57 member states spread over four continents and aims to protect the interests of the Muslim world.

Watch: Trump holds up fist to reporters, but doesn't take questions

As we have been reporting, Donald Trump did not answer any questions after arriving back at the White House.

The president was expected to say something ahead of hosting a National Security Council meeting, which is closed to the press.

Watch the moment Trump walks across the lawn from Marine One and opts to hold up his fist to waiting media, rather than take any questions.

Bodyguard of former Hezbollah leader killed in Israeli airstrike, militant group official says

The bodyguard of the former leader of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, was killed in an Israeli airstrike while in Iran, a Hezbollah official has said.

Abu Ali Khalil, better known as Abu Ali Jawad, was killed on Saturday after he went to Iran from neighbouring Iraq, the official said.

For many years, Abu Ali was seen behind Nasrallah - who was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Lebanon in September - during most of his public appearances.

After Nasrallah's death, Abu Ali was put in charge of his tomb in Lebanon's capital, Beirut.

Explosions heard in northwestern Iran - report

Iranian media is reporting the sound of explosions in the northwestern city of Tabriz.

The state-run Nour News also says explosions have been heard in the east of Tehran.

Earlier, we reported about Israeli strikes on the southern city of Shiraz, which hosts military bases (see 21.51 post).

The Mehr news agency said the city's air defences have been activated and have been "engaged in fighting hostile targets and Zionist aircraft".

Trump declines to speak to reporters

Donald Trump has just arrived back at the White House - where he walked straight past reporters and declined to answer any questions.

He is due to host a National Security Council meeting shortly.

Israel says it has intercepted a drone over the northeastern areas of Ramat Magshimim and Haspin.

It said the drone was launched toward Israel from the east.

Earlier, local media in Iran quoted the country's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as saying its latest wave of attacks on Israel had begun (see 22.21 post).

'Only time will tell,' Trump says

Donald Trump is due back at the White House shortly for a meeting of the US National Security Council.

Before then, he's been posting on his Truth Social platform.

Sharing a Fox News report about whether he will authorise US military action against Iran or not, Trump said simply: "Only time will tell!"
