Israel has attacked Iran, and its operation will continue for "as many days as it takes", according to Benjamin Netanyahu. Iran's leader, meanwhile, has vowed "severe punishment" in return.

In an extra episode of The World recorded before Friday night's retaliatory strikes by Iran on Israel, Yalda Hakim was joined by Sky News's international affairs editor Dominic Waghorn to ask why Israel decided to launch its initial attacks and whether this is the start of something much bigger.

Dominic is standing in for Richard - who is on his way to the Middle East.
