The Duchess of Cambridge has long been compared to her husband's mother, the Princess of Wales.
On the couple's tour of Pakistan, the similarities in style and content have become overwhelming.
As the visit comes to an end with an unexpected flight diversion, Kate has never seemed more like the inheritor of Diana's mantle.
- Imran Khan
Former international cricket star Mr Khan and his ex-wife Jemima Khan were friends of Diana, Princess of Wales, who visited Pakistan several times, including in May 1997, just three months before she died.
William and Kate met not only the famous former player, now the country's prime minister, but also other cricket greats including another former Pakistan fast bowler, Waqar Younis.
- Children
Like Diana, William and Kate have celebrated children and education on their five-day tour.
They were special guests at a birthday party at the SOS Children's Village, a charitable organisation providing homes for around 150 orphaned young boys and girls.
On her trip in 1991, Diana visited the Kinnaird College for Women in Lahore and an all-women school.
- Outfits
Many royal watchers have spotted similarities in the Duchess of Cambridge's outfits and those worn by Diana.
Kate, who has favoured traditional outfits, wore an emerald green headscarf and matching shalwar kameez with a gold trim by Maheen Khan during her visit to Badshahi Mosque.
The duke's mother also chose green when she visited the site in 1991.
When she arrived on Monday, Kate opted for a turquoise ombre shalwar kameez by Catherine Walker - a designer favoured by Diana.
- Visits
William and Kate visited some of the same places his mother did, including the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre in Lahore.
The facility was the brainchild of Mr Khan, who began work on it after his mother died from the disease.
They then toured the Badshahi Mosque, the most historic Islamic site in Lahore, set in the heart of the Walled City, which the Princess of Wales visited in 1991.
- Hats
Kate and William followed Diana's lead by travelling to Chitral in the mountains of the Hindu Kush.

Kate was given a regimental cap of the Chitral Scouts with peacock feathers during her visit to the remote valley, just like Diana nearly 30 years ago.
