Man charged after boy , 2, dies in car crash in Smethwick

A man is due in court accused of causing death by dangerous driving after a two-year-old boy died in a hit-and-run crash.
Four adults were also injured in the incident, which took place just before 11pm on Saturday on Dartmouth Road in Smethwick, near Birmingham.
West Midlands Police said a grey Porsche Cayenne hit a Toyota Auris carrying the adults and the two-year-old.
The force said the child died after being taken to hospital.
A 29-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man remain in a serious condition.
Sharjeel Shahzad, 30, is set to appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court.

He is also charged with driving while disqualified, driving with no insurance and failing to stop after a collision.
