A man has been arrested after threats were allegedly made against senior Labour MP Yvette Cooper.
West Yorkshire Police said a 59-year-old man, from Leeds, was arrested in Castleford on Friday.
He was detained "as a result of information received in relation to alleged threats against a serving MP".
The force added: "He has been bailed pending further advice from the Crown Prosecution Service."
Ms Cooper, 49, who is married to former shadow chancellor Ed Balls, said in 2016 that she had alerted police after receiving a death threat against her children and grandchildren.
Ms Cooper received the sinister tweet from an account that accused her of sending pro-EU "propaganda" by email.
It said: "Hello, Yvette I have received your Stronger In propaganda emails 5 times please stop or I will kill your kids and grandkids."
Reposting the threatening tweet to her followers, the MP said: "Got this today for speaking out for Remain..... This has to stop."
Police and Twitter were both alerted.
Ms Cooper made those comments only a couple of days after attending a service of remembrance for the late Labour MP Jo Cox, who was murdered a week before the EU referendum in June 2016.
Ms Cooper has been MP for Normanton, Pontefract and Castleford since 2010, before which she represented Pontefract and Castleford, going back to 1997.
She was secretary of state for work and pensions between 2009 and 2010, and currently chairs the Home Affairs Select Committee.
