A man has been arrested and charged following reports of dogs being "set loose" in Dumfries and Galloway.

Six dogs were rounded up back in July after police were called out to a pack roaming in the Moffat area.

The alarm was initially raised after four dogs were shot dead by a farmer when a sheep was killed and another was attacked by wandering canines.

The six dogs rounded up remain in the care of Dumfries and Galloway Canine Rescue Centre (DGCRC).

The dogs have been given names with a Moffat connection. The girls are called Charlotte and Toffee, while the boys have been christened Brodie, Glen, Meadow and Rae.

In an update back in September, the centre's Emma Scott told Sky News the team was hopeful the dogs would each find forever homes after their rehabilitation.
