Man dies after two jet-skis crash off coast of Dumfries and Galloway

A 42-year-old man was flown by air ambulance to a hospital in Glasgow, where he later died. Police said he had sustained serious injuries.

A man has died after a crash involving two jet-skis off the coast of Dumfries and Galloway.

Police were called to the incident at 5.35pm on Saturday, with a 42-year-old man taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow by air ambulance for treatment of serious injuries.

He later died on Sunday.

No one else was injured in the crash.

Detective Inspector Graeme Robertson said: "My thoughts are with the man's family and everyone affected by this tragic incident.

"Our enquiries to establish what led to this collision are ongoing and at an early stage.

"I would urge anyone with information regarding what happened, or if they were present and saw anything to come forward."

The man's next of kin has been made aware.
