Motorcyclist from Newcastle who died after crashing in Dumfries and Galloway named

A motorcyclist who died after crashing in Dumfries and Galloway during a group ride has been named by police.
Paul Armstrong, 41, sustained fatal injuries following the collision near to Boreland on the B723 Annan to Eskdalemuir road.
Emergency services were alerted, but Mr Armstrong, from Newcastle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, which happened at around 2.30pm on Sunday.

The road was closed for several hours to allow for an investigation to take place.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "An investigation remains ongoing and anyone with information which has not yet been passed to police is asked to call 101."
