Neymar is not worth his record 拢200m transfer fee
The huge price PSG paid for the Brazilian star is all about status, branding and replica shirt sales, argues Sky's Enda Brady.

"I was never motivated by money... I want my family to be happy, I always follow my heart."
So there we have it.
Neymar's mind-boggling transfer from Barcelona to Paris Saint Germain was not about astronomical sums of cash after all, he just wants to be happy.
Don't we all dear! But do you believe him?
Just come out and scream it, Robbie Williams-style, like when he signed that mega record deal after going solo.
"I'm rich beyond my wildest dreams!" Robbie boasted and so too is Neymar, and that was well before he penned the most incredible contract football has ever seen.
The answer of course is that he is not. Nobody is. PSG will sell an inordinate number of replica jerseys with his name on the back, but how can they ever hope to recoup the money this is costing?
They are guaranteed huge media exposure next season (and beyond) and may even progress further in the Champions League than they ever have, but let's be honest here - this is a statement of intent.
Somebody was going to break the £200m transfer barrier. PSG made sure they got there first.
They are able to fund it because they are Qatari-owned and the Neymar transfer is just another investment.
In Qatari terms, it is not even a lot of money. They are desperate for their club to become a global brand and by signing Neymar they are well on their way.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger often gets criticised for his parsimonious dealings in the transfer world, but he hit the nail on the head this week when he was asked to comment on events in his native France.
"For me, it's the consequences of the ownership and that has completely changed the landscape in football in the last 15 years," Wenger told reporters.
"Once a country owns a club, everything is possible."
Indeed it is. Who could ever have dreamed that a transfer like this could take place?
A fascinating element of Neymar's news conference was PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi telling reporters in Paris that if the Brazilian had truly been motivated by cash, he would have gone elsewhere.
So it could have been an ever bigger transfer.
Neymar will undoubtedly score goals for PSG and lots of them. Just look at some of the clubs he will be lining up against next season in Ligue 1 (by my reckoning the fifth best league in western Europe) - the defences of Amiens, Angers, Troyes and Caen will be super busy.
How can one single player be worth a £200m transfer fee and merit a weekly wage of £500,000 for five years?
So PSG have got their man and a huge amount of publicity around the globe. Neymar becomes the number one star player at his club and may even win silverware with them next season.
But in time when he looks at what Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez are achieving at Barcelona, will he ever wonder what could have been had he stayed?
And can you honestly see PSG winning the Champions League any time soon?
