Jack Crawley manhunt: North Yorkshire Police search for attempted murder suspect who could travelling around UK

The 19-year-old is wanted in connection with the attempted murder of a man close to the village of Acaster Malbis, near York, on Friday 5 January.

A manhunt has been launched for a suspect wanted in connection with an attempted murder.

North Yorkshire Police is warning the public not to approach Jack Crawley, 19, if they spot him and instead to alert the authorities.

The teenager is wanted in connection with the attempted murder of a man close to the village of Acaster Malbis, near York, on Friday 5 January.

The force said Crawley is from Carlisle, but has links to Leeds, Rotherham, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Edinburgh, and may be travelling around different locations.

Crawley is described as around 6ft 3in tall and has short hair and short facial hair. He is left-handed and wears size 9.5 footwear.

North Yorkshire Police said: "Anyone who believes they have seen Crawley or has any information about his location should contact police.

"If you see Crawley, please do not confront him and dial 999 as soon as it is safe to do so."
