Paris plans 'Princess Diana Square' at site where she died
The site is already home to an unofficial memorial to the late royal, and is adjacent to the tunnel where she was killed in 1997.

Officials at Paris city hall have announced plans to name a small square after Diana, Princess of Wales, at the site of the car crash that killed the royal.
The site adjacent to the Alma Tunnel, where Diana, her Egyptian boyfriend Dodi Fayed and their driver were killed, already has a golden flame there that royal supporters use as an unofficial memorial.
The memorial, called the Flame of Liberty, is a replica of the torch on the Statue of Liberty in New York and was offered to the city in 1989 by the US.
But royal supporters have used it as a place to lay flowers and tributes to the princess, due to its location overlooking the tunnel.
The site is currently named after Parisian opera singer Maria Callas who also has the nearby Rue Maria Callas in the French capital named after her.
A city hall official said the council will vote in June to rename the small square after the late princess.
The 36-year-old former wife of Prince Charles was known for her humanitarian work, earning her the title of the "people's princess".
Princess Diana died on 31 August 1997 after the car she was in crashed into a concrete pillar in a tunnel, whilst trying to flee paparazzi photographers.
Some 32 million people watched her funeral in the UK, making it one of the most-viewed events in British television history.
