The Greater Manchester Police officer who kicked a man in the head went on to pepper spray another man before wrestling him to the ground.

The police officer - who has since been suspended - was filmed kicking and stamping on the suspect as he was lying face down at Manchester Airport Terminal 2 on Tuesday.

Armed with a taser, he kicked a second man in the thigh while ordering him to get on the ground.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said they had been responding to reports of an assault at the airport before the footage was filmed.

Videos have now emerged of the officer being involved in another altercation.

GMP officers are seen talking to a group of men who filmed the first incident, with one man holding his phone while he speaks to police.

After a short time, police appear to move to arrest the men. The officer involved in the first incident then draws pepper spray and uses it on the man recording.

The officer attempts to take the man down with a headlock, before another officer restrains his arm.

The officer then grabs the man and wrestles him to the ground, while an onlooker says "he didn't f***ing do anything".

Officer stamps on man's head

Lawyer Akhmed Yakoob, representing the two men involved in the first incident - named Fahir and Amaad - said Fahir was found to have a cyst on his brain after a CT scan following the incident.

Responding on Thursday to the video of the officer kicking Fahir, GMP said: "Following a thorough review of further information that has become available in relation to an incident at Manchester Airport on Tuesday evening, Greater Manchester Police has suspended a police officer from all duties.

"A referral has now been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) for a full independent investigation.

"We understand the deep concerns that have been widely raised with us, and will continue to meet and discuss these feelings with Greater Manchester residents and elected representatives, whilst this independent investigation takes place."

The IOPC said it was also investigating the new video, saying: "The second [complaint] relates to the same officer's use of PAVA [pepper] spray on another man at the airport."

It comes after an estimated 200 demonstrators gathered outside Rochdale Police Station on Wednesday night with some shouting "GMP shame on you!".
