Manchester United becomes the latest team to pay respect after the death of Venables.

In a post on X, the club said: "English football has sadly lost a true great. 

"Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Terry Venables at this time."

Venables 'brought genuine joy and euphoria'

Baddiel wrote Three Lions, known to many of us as It's Coming Home, with Frank Skinner and the Lightning Seeds to mark the Euro 96 tournament, which was hosted by England.

Venables took QPR back into the First Division after they won the Second Division in 1983.

Sky Sports' Roy Keane has said football is missing "brilliant characters" like Terry Venables today.

"His CV is fantastic," he says.

"He came across as a brilliant character and that is what the game is missing nowadays.

"It's a sad day."

David Seaman: 'A great man, a great loss'

The former international and Arsenal goalkeeper has shared a tribute, describing Venables as "by far the best England manager".

Seaman wrote on X: "Dear Terry, you鈥檒l be sadly missed, you told me I was your England Number one and I鈥檒l never ever forget that, you were by far the best England manager and the nation will always remember the way you managed us at Euro '96 - great man, great loss."
