Timeline: 'Depraved' taxi driver Christopher Halliwell evaded justice for years

More than 13 years after Becky Godden was last seen alive, Christopher Halliwell has been convicted of her murder.

Here is a timeline of the events which led to the taxi driver being  as well as the murder of Sian O'Callaghan.

:: December 2002 - The last time the mother of Becky Godden sees her daughter after picking her up in Swindon.

:: Early January 2003 - Becky Godden is last seen alive getting into a taxi outside a nightclub in the town by a friend.

:: 3 January 2003 - Halliwell calls RAC after running out of fuel in the early hours near Highworth, close to Eastleach, and later visits his GP with a broken finger and scratches to his face.

:: 2007 - Miss Godden is officially reported as missing.

:: 18 March 2011 - Sian O'Callaghan, 22, goes for a night out with friends in Swindon.

:: 19 March 2011 - Sian is last seen in the early hours of the morning leaving a nightclub. Her boyfriend reports her missing just before 10am.

:: 24 March 2011 - Christopher Halliwell is arrested. He leads officers to Sian O'Callaghan's body. He then leads them to a rural area in Gloucestershire, where he says he buried another woman.

:: 26 March 2011 - Police find the remains of Becky Godden.

:: 31 May 2012 - Halliwell denies murdering Sian O'Callaghan at Bristol Crown Court.  A judge rules that evidence regarding the murder of Becky Godden obtained after his arrest was inadmissible.

:: 19 October 2012 - Halliwell pleads guilty to murdering Sian O'Callaghan and is given a life sentence.

:: February 2015 - Halliwell is charged with the murder of Becky Godden.

:: June 2016 - Halliwell pleads not guilty to murder.

:: 19 September 2016 - Halliwell is found guilty of murdering Becky Godden, with her family saying they "have received the justice that has felt like an eternity coming for our beautiful little girl".

Steve Fulcher, who was led to the victims' bodies by Halliwell, describes him as an "evil and depraved violator of women".
