Tinder launches panic button and verification measure to tackle catfishing
Users will be able to record information about where and when their dates are so they can alert the authorities in a panic.

Tinder is adding a range of new safety features including a panic button in case users need to alert the authorities while on a date.
The dating app will also tackle catfishing - duping someone into a relationship by using false pictures and information - with a new photo verification feature.
The verified photos will be assessed by an algorithm with human assistance after prompting users to take some selfies in real-time.
Once users have successfully completed the verification procedure then their profiles will receive a blue tick affirming that they look like what they claim to look like.

"I'm proud to share these updates, which represent an important step in driving our safety work forward at an unmatched scale," Ms Seidman added.
The panic button feature comes as Tinder's parent company Match Group announced its integration with Noonlight, a feature which lets users record who they are meeting, as well as where and when, and then the ability to discreetly alert the emergency services if they are feeling uncomfortable.
Noonlight integration will only be available in the US at the beginning.
The verified profile feature is in testing in "select markets" according to Tinder "and will continue becoming more widely available throughout 2020".
