Two bungalows in South Wales are set to go to auction with a total guide price of just 拢1.

The properties in the village of Crumlin in Caerphilly "occupy an elevated position with fine views across the valley", auctioneers say.

They add that the tin bungalows are currently in a "poor state of repair" - but the site "may offer scope for alternative development such as a detached dwelling (subject to necessary planning consents)".

Auctioneers have not carried out an internal inspection of the properties but they have been told they include:

• Bungalow 1 - entrance, lounge, kitchen, toilet, two bedrooms
• Bungalow 2 - lounge, bedroom, kitchen area

There is also land at the sides, rear and front of the properties, with a parking area.

The freehold properties have been with their current owner since about 2009.

Valuer Sean Roper, from Paul Fosh Auctions, told Sky News the bungalows were now in a "dilapidated" condition.

"We haven't been able to gain access because it's so overgrown, although we had a landscaper down there yesterday with a view to make an access to it, so people can see it," he said.

"We won't be going inside because it's probably not safe."

Setting the guide price at £1 had "created a bit of excitement", according to Mr Roper.

He added: "It's obviously worth more than that but in auction sometimes if you price them at the right level, they'll create more interest than they would have done if you'd put a normal price on them.

"We get lots of unusual properties and bits landing in the auction but it's unique in that you can't get inside it and secondly, it's priced at £1."

The online auction takes place from 12 December to 14 December.
