Stories of brutality in North Korea have become all too familiar.

This one struck very close to home for many Americans.

Instead of a young man from a close family returning to his country to start a job on Wall Street, Otto Warmbier was .

There are still plenty of unanswered questions.

How did he fall into a coma, why did North Korea spend 15 months keeping him alive and why did the regime lie about the cause of the coma, claiming it was a case of botulism?

The US also has other pressing troubles on the horizon - trying to free three American citizens .

The main issues between the two nations are not about hostages, but strategy, and we are yet to see how this administration's might evolve.

Trump said he was "glad" the US was able to bring back Otto Warmbier. Now he must decide what, if anything, he does next to step up pressure on North Korea.
