Teleconferencing software Zoom has confirmed a partial outage impacting video meeting and webinars on Monday.
According to the company's status page, it is "in the process of deploying a fix across our cloud. Service has been restored already for some users. We are continuing to roll this out to complete the fix for any users still impacted".
Zoom earlier confirmed it had "identified the issue causing users to be unable to authenticate to the Zoom website and unable to start and join Zoom meetings and webinars" - although it did not disclose what the issue is.
According to the website Down Detector, which collects social media complaints about service issues, the reports began shortly after noon UK time.
Users in the UK and US appear to be complaining more often than others. The outage appears to be only partial, with some users successfully managing to connect to scheduled Zoom meetings.
Customer support personnel operating the company's Twitter account are telling those who can't that they sincerely apologise for any inconvenience.
Zoom has become a popular tool during the coronavirus pandemic, growing from roughly 10 million daily users in December to more than 300 million in April.
Its security practices and the location of its research and development teams in China had prompted some to express concern about whether the company's software was trustworthy.
The company was especially criticised for suspending accounts used to host a meeting commemorating the Tiananmen Square massacre between pro-democracy activists and Chinese dissidents.
