Israel warns Iranian civilians near weapon facilities to evacuate

Israel's military spokesman has issued an evacuation warning to all Iranian residents near weapon facilities.

Avichay Adraee posted an "urgent warning to all Iranian citizens" on social media.

"All individuals currently or in the near future present in or around military weapons production facilities and their support institutions are to leave these areas immediately and not return until further notice," he wrote.

Germany offers Iran nuclear talks along with UK and France

Germany's foreign minister has said they are ready to hold immediate nuclear talks with Iran, along with France and the UK.

The US hopes to curb Iran's nuclear programme, but a new round of talks were called off today, following Israel's attacks on Iran.

Johann Wadephul, who is on a visit to the Middle East, said he wants to de-escalate the conflict.

"Germany, together with France and Britain are ready," he told German broadcaster ARD.

"We're offering Iran immediate negotiations about the nuclear programme, I hope [the offer] is accepted,"

He said this is a "key prerequisite" for solving the conflict, to ensure Iran "presents no danger to the region, for the state of Israel or to Europe".

Number killed in Iranian strikes rises to 10

The number of people reported killed after Iranian attacks in Israel has risen to 10.

Dozens more have been injured, with Israeli media reporting more than 200 people have been hurt.

Israeli Air Force says it downs more drones heading to Israel

More drones have been reported near Israeli airspace.

The Air Force said it has downed seven in the past hour, with help from the Navy.

All were heading to Israeli territory, it said.

Iran launched two waves of missile attacks overnight - fewer than the previous night, but appearing to cause significantly more damage.

Israeli media reports at least eight people have been killed, though the Times of Israel said that figure stands at 10.

Huge flames and billowing smoke can be seen at the Shahran oil depot in Tehran, which Iran has said was hit by Israeli strikes, as we reported at 6.41am.

Iran says the fire is now under control.

Houthis announce joint attack on Israel for first time

For the first time, Yemen's Houthis publicly announced they targeted Israel in coordination with Iran.

Spokesperson Yehya Sareagroup said the group targeted central Israel's Jaffa with several ballistic missiles in the past 24 hours.

"Triumphing for the oppressed Palestinian and Iranian peoples... this operation was coordinated with the operations carried out by the Iranian army against the criminal Israeli enemy," he added.

Meanwhile, Israeli media reported last night the military attempted to assassinate a senior Houthi leader.

For context: The Houthis are part of an Iran-aligned regional alliance, which also includes Hamas and Lebanon's Hezbollah.

The group governs swathes of Yemen, including the capital Sanaa, more than a thousand miles from Israel.

It has blamed Israel for instability in the Middle East, saying the "circle of conflict" in the region was driven by its "continued crimes".

The group seized Sanaa and much of the country's north in 2014.

In January 2015, they surrounded the residence of former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi, forcing him to flee.

Attacks continue overnight - what you need to know in five bullet points

Iran and Israel continued to exchange airstrikes overnight.

If you're just joining, here's a quick look at the main developments since last night:

  • Iran fired at least two waves of missiles at Israel, with explosions heard in Haifa, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem - the scale of damage isn't clear yet;
  • The Shahran oil depot caught fire after an Israeli attack, though Tehran says the situation there is under control, while strikes also targeted Iran's defence ministry building, reportedly causing minor damage;
  • At least seven have been killed in Israel overnight, according to the ambulance service, but local media has reported eight, with dozens more injured or missing;
  • Iran has not given a total number of deaths since its UN envoy reported 78 had been killed on Friday - with 60 claimed to have died yesterday in a Tehran neighbourhood;
  • Nuclear talks between Iran and the US won't happen today, as originally planned, and Donald Trump has threatened to respond in a way "never seen before" if their bases are attacked.
Trump threatens to respond 'at levels never seen before' if Iran attacks US

Donald Trump has threatened to respond to any attack by Iran on the US with "the full strength and might of the US Armed Forces".

In a post on Truth Social, the US president said the US had "nothing to do with the attack on Iran, tonight".

He wrote: "If we are attacked in any way, shape or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the U.S. Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before.

"However, we can easily get a deal done between Iran and Israel, and end this bloody conflict!!!"

His comments came as Iran and Israel exchanged more strikes overnight, with reports from Israel saying eight people were killed in two hits on residential buildings.

Israel says it attacked Iran's defence ministry and nuclear project

Israel continued its own attacks overnight, saying on social media that it targeted the ministry of defence HQ in Tehran, the base for a nuclear project, and "additional targets".

Casualty figures are so far unknown.

Israel has insisted its actions are vital to stop Iran developing a nuclear weapon in the near future. Iran, however, has long maintained that its nuclear programme is for domestic purposes only.

Eight killed in two strikes on residential buildings - Israeli media

Israeli media are reporting at least eight people have been killed in Iranian missile strikes overnight.

Four of them are said to have been killed after a building suffered a direct hit in Bat Yam, just south of Tel Aviv, while another four women - from the same family - reportedly died in the northern city of Tamra.

Sky News has not yet been able to independently verify these figures.

Israel's MDA emergency service has so far only confirmed four deaths: A woman in her 60s, a woman in her 80s, a boy around 10 years old, and another young girl. (Believed to be the Bat Yam incident).

It also said 140 people were injured in the overnight attacks. As always, these figures could be revised.
